What position are we looking for and what will it do?

We are seeking a Director of Program Management. The Project Management Office (PMO) ensures that business projects are executed effectively and efficiently. The Director of Program Management runs the PMO, oversees projects and develops and maintains project management methodologies, standards, and tools. This role is responsible for various program management efforts related to defining, implementing, deploying and operating Canoe enablement of linear and VOD products and services.  Specifically, this role will define and manage tasks, dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies for all assigned programs. This person will need to have a deep understanding of PayTV cultures from both an MVPD perspective and content provider perspective, have experiential knowledge of the television and digital advertising industry and large-scale product/services deployments. Ideally, this person will have experience with Addressability and Programmatic advertising but at minimum, should understand the addressable PayTV & Programmatic business/ecosystem.  

Essential duties and key responsibilities:

  • Developing and leading the project/program management office (PMO): The PMO is a ‘Centre of Excellence’ that helps achieve better quality, consistency, and oversight of projects for clients, partners, and our organization by developing and maintaining project management methodologies, standards, and tools.

  • Establishing the organization’s approach to the full life cycle of projects: This includes everything from project planning, initiation, resourcing, and execution to monitoring, control and completion.

  • Ensuring the PMO meets performance targets: Aligns with the ecosystem’s strategic objectives and adheres to best practices.

  • Acting as a trusted strategic advisor: May work alongside business leaders to help determine which projects should be undertaken why and when, not just how.

  • Document, communicate, and align program goals and priorities across stakeholders.

  • Define the workstreams, tasks and critical path items required to deliver projects successfully (build project plans, define deliverables, interdependencies).

  • Optimize schedules and priorities to mitigate risk, reduce delays, and balance competing priorities.

  • Develop and implement a communication plan so all participants are aligned on priorities, decisions, and action items.

  • Track and communicate progress, program health, critical path, and project risks.

  • Ensure project teams and resources are secured across multiple companies and stakeholders.

  • Drive and coordinate workstreams across multiple companies and teams.

  • Resolve conflicts, determine corrective actions and escalations when necessary.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following technical skills:

 

Bachelor’s Degree, 10+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. PM certification is a plus.

 

  • Proven track record in project/product management involving multiple internal functional groups and external stakeholders. 

  • Experience with overseeing technical onboarding and leading cross-company projects.

  • Minimum of 10 years program management experience launching new products or executing on large scale integration projects. 

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience within the Cable TV and/or Advertising industries.

  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 30%.

  • Advanced level proficiency of MS Office tools including PowerPoint and MS Project.

 

Our competitive compensation package includes pay commensurate with experience and in the top half of market based pay along with bonus opportunity. Our benefit package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance along with STD/LTD, life insurance, commuter benefits, and a full offering of voluntary insurance. Medical insurance for all coverage levels is 100% employer paid. Dental insurance for employee only coverage is 100% employer paid. Canoe contributes to your HSA_account. Canoe matches your 401k contribution 100% up to 8%. We have unlimited vacation and flexible office hours. The starting wage for this position is $132,000 with a 25% bonus opportunity. Final pay will be determined by one or more of the following criteria: seniority, merit, quality and/or quantity of production, education, training, experience, location, and travel.
